About the Image Resizer
Almost every platform has an opinion about image dimensions. A profile photo wants a square, a marketplace listing wants a minimum width, a print job wants exact pixels, and a website wants images no larger than they will actually display. This tool resizes to whatever those requirements are: type an exact pixel width and height, or scale by percentage, with the aspect ratio locked so nothing stretches unless you deliberately unlock it.
Resizing is also the most effective way to reduce file size, and it is often confused with compression. Compression re-encodes the same pixels more aggressively. Resizing removes pixels you were never going to use. A 4000-pixel-wide camera photo displayed in an 800-pixel column is carrying five times the data it needs, and no amount of compression fixes that as cleanly as scaling it down.
