About the Rotate PDF
A sideways PDF is usually a scanner's fault. Feed a landscape page through a portrait scanner, or photograph a document with the phone turned the wrong way, and you get a file that everyone has to tilt their head to read. Most PDF viewers let you rotate the view, but that only lasts until the file is closed — the next person to open it sees it sideways again.
Rotating here changes the pages themselves, so the correction is saved into the file and travels with it. Whoever you send it to sees it the right way up, and it prints the right way up too, which is the part that view-only rotation never fixes.
The three options cover every real case: 90 degrees either way for a page that was fed in sideways, and 180 for one that went through upside down. The rotation applies to every page in the document, which is almost always what you want, because a scanner that got one page wrong got all of them wrong in the same direction. The text stays selectable and searchable — nothing is flattened into an image — and the file is never uploaded, so contracts and statements stay on your device.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I rotate a PDF and save it?
- Upload the file, choose the angle, then click Download PDF. Unlike rotating the view in a reader, this saves the change into the file itself.
- Does rotating affect the text in the PDF?
- No. Text stays selectable and searchable — only the page orientation changes, nothing is converted to an image.
- Can I rotate just one page?
- This tool rotates every page at once, which matches how scanning errors usually happen. To isolate a page first, use the Extract PDF Pages tool.
