About the PNG to PDF
PNG is what screenshots are made of, which is why this conversion comes up so often. A bug report, a set of design mockups, a record of an online transaction, a chat thread captured screen by screen — all of it starts as a folder of PNGs and needs to arrive as one document that opens the same way on every machine.
PDF solves the part that email and chat do not. Attachments arrive in whatever order the client feels like, previews are inconsistent, and a recipient on a different operating system may not see them at all. A single PDF has a fixed page order, prints predictably, and opens in a browser without anything installed.
The margin control matters more for screenshots than for photographs. A screenshot is usually wider than it is tall while a page is taller than it is wide, so stretching one to fill the other either distorts it or crops the edges. A margin keeps the whole capture visible with white space around it, which is also what makes it readable in print. This converter flattens transparency onto white and re-encodes images as JPEG. It is not a lossless PNG embedding tool. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no watermark or page limit.
For example, add three receipt photos, put them in date order with the arrow buttons, and choose A4 portrait with small margins. The result has three pages. Fit to image uses image pixel dimensions as PDF points, so choose A4 or Letter when the printed paper size matters.
Images are re-encoded as JPEG at quality 0.92 over a white background. Transparency is removed and the result is not lossless. This tool does not perform OCR: text in a photo remains an image rather than searchable text. Review every page before sharing and keep your source images.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I convert PNG to PDF?
- Drop your PNG files in, arrange them in order, then select Convert to PDF, then Download PDF. Each image becomes one page of the document.
- What happens to transparent areas?
- This converter fills transparent areas with white before embedding the image as JPEG. Fine text and graphics may acquire compression artifacts; keep the original PNG for lossless editing.
- Is there a limit on how many images I can add?
- No fixed limit. The practical ceiling is your own device's memory, and large batches may exhaust browser memory; try a smaller batch if conversion fails.
