About the PDF Metadata Viewer

A PDF records more than the pages you can see. Its document properties carry a title, an author name, a subject line, keywords, the dates it was created and last modified, and the software that produced it. None of that is visible when you read the file, and all of it travels with the document when you send it.

That information is often more revealing than people expect. The author field usually holds whoever's account created the file, which may be a real name or an internal username. The producer field shows what software was used, which tells a reader something about the organisation. The modification date shows when a document was really last touched, regardless of what it says on the page.

There are legitimate reasons to read it in both directions. Checking a document you received tells you where it came from and whether the dates are consistent. Checking a document you are about to send tells you what you are about to disclose — a template's original author, a project codename left in the keywords, or an internal file path. If you would rather none of it went out, the Remove PDF Metadata tool strips the lot. Nothing is uploaded, so a confidential file stays on your device while you inspect it.

Title, author, subject, keywords, creation and modification dates, and the application that produced the file.
Is my PDF uploaded to read it?
No. Everything runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
